Recently, reports from Quebec and Ontario have surfaced, revealing the circulation of fake two-dollar coins. The CBSA (Canada Border Services Agency) shared exclusive images with Global News, of the 26,000 seized $2 coins. These coins, suspected to have been ordered from China, were reportedly in circulation within Quebec.

Identifying these counterfeit toonies is key. The fake coins are lighter and shinier than the real deal. Pay attention to the Queen's crown – a genuine toonie displays a more detailed crown compared to the counterfeit version.
